Using Brushes for Masking

Anime Studio Pro only

In this tutorial I describe how to use custom brushes for masking. Instead of using a brush on a vector layer that is rendered the brush is placed in the mask layer to reveal a shape that has effects applied such as shaded or gradient.

Also a brush can be used to create gradated blurred masks for limbs such as blending a bicep into a shoulder. Instead of needing an extra image layer used as a mask the image can be placed in the brushes folder allowing the mask to be in a single vector layer instead of a vector layer and an image layer.
