Anime Studio Tutorials and Resources

Tutorials, Products and Services Dedicated to Users of Anime Studio Pro 5 and 6 and Debut

My name is Vern Zehr and as a user of Anime Studio for nearly 5 years (formerly "Moho") I have a lot of experience in all aspects of the application including drawing techniques, bone rigs and creating custom tools and layer scripts. This site is dedicated to providing a resource for beginners, pro users, and anyone using Anime Studio for production of any type. Along with tutorials I will also be offering hands on training and other services such as character rigging or custom scripting to streamline your production workflow.

This brand new web site devoted to Anime Studio will be changing and growing both with tutorials as well as products and services for purchase.  I am a very active contributor to the Lost Marble Anime Studio forum. My user name on the forum is Heyvern and I and other expert AS users are available to answer many of your questions regarding ASP or Debut.

Users who choose a paid membership will have access to all of the tutorials and available content. Those who choose the 1 month membership will have limited acces to the tutorials, but even non members will have access to the free scripting section for downloading layer scripts, tools, buttons and menu scripts to enhance the functionality of Anime Studio. If the scripts menu is not seen above in the main navigation it will be there soon.

I will be creating new tutorials at least once a week so there will always be something new. If you have any ideas for tutorials send a Tutorial Request by clicking the link in the main menu.

Tutorial Requests: Basics, Rigging, Faces and Shading

From the tutorial requests I'ver recieved so far there is a lot of interest in my 2.5d face rig set up as well as rigging a character and the shading techniques I use. I am going to try to cover a lot of this in a "series" tutorial where I build a charcter from scratch. Both a body and head. I will attempt to demonstrate my "hideously complex" 2.5D head rig. I've been reluctant in the past to do this because it is so very complex and the way I use it for new characters is not... precise. It is not a simple, step by step process and may involve tweaking constraints and moving some of the over 200 bones in the rig. This can be frightening even to me!

This "Character Creation"  tutorial series will cover many aspects of using Anime Studio from drawing to final animation and will be done "in context". Applying the techniques I've learned over the years to an actual animated sequence of the completed character. Part 1 of this series should be going up very soon.

Another request is for more basic techniques that target new users. I have started this with my Alll About Bones tutorials. Parts 1 and 2 of this series is up now. Part 3 will be up next week. I am planning to do a similar series just focusing on drawing basics. Keep in mind these may be "basic" tutorials but I will also include some interesting "advanced" techniques I consider usefull for any level of Anime Studio user, beginner or advanced.
